Will my meter continue to be read as normal?

ESB Networks will continue to work as normal, providing meter readings to Electric Ireland.
On the day the meter is installed, the installer will provide a meter reading and we will issue an interim bill up to this date.

  • If this bill generates a credit balance, we will issue a cheque or free top up to that value

  • If this bill generates a debit balance, it will be added to your meter and will be paid off at a rate of 10% of each top up

After this point, you will no longer receive bi-monthly bills. Instead, we will send you a statement at the end of the year that will confirm your payments and electricity usage for the yearly period.
