Will my ESB Networks Meter continue to be read?

ESB Networks will continue to work as normal, providing meter readings to Electric Ireland. On the day the meter is installed, the installer will provide an actual meter reading and we will issue an interim bill up to this date.

  • If this bill generates a credit balance, we will issue a cheque or free top up to that value
  • If this generates a debit balance, it will be added to your meter and will be paid off at a rate of 25% of each top-up. It can also be paid off at any time using a laser or visa card.

At the end of the year, we will send you a statement that will confirm your payments and electricity usage for the yearly period. This statement is for information only and, unlike a bill, is not payable.
