Topping up is easy with Electric Ireland, with the Pay As You Go meter there are multiple flexible ways to Top Up.
If you are a PAYG Electricity Customer with a standard PAYG meter, your next top up payment will require a longer 60 digit code to update your meter with our new prices, due to a recent price change. This longer code will also top up your meter with your next payment amount as usual. After you have entered your 60 digit code this one time you will revert back to the normal 20 digit code for your next top up.
1. Online Top Up
There is more than one way to top up online. As a registered customer you can regularly top up with your stored details or if you would rather not register you can do a once off top up as many times as you like.
For registering online with Payzone all you need is your keypad number, bank card details, the location of the meter and your email address.
2. Over the Counter Top Up at Payzone outlets
Smarter Pay As You Go Meters
If you have a Smarter Pay As You Go meter, you can use your Smarter Pay As You Go top up card at any Payzone outlet. The top up will be automatically applied to your Smarter Pay As You Go meter. Your top up card has been issued to you when you joined Electric Ireland, if you need to request a replacement card please see options below.
Standard Pay As You Go MetersIf you have a standard Pay As You Go meter, you can buy a top up code at any Payzone outlets and input the code manually into your Pay As You Go meter.
Lost your Top Up card?
If you have lost your top-up card please call us at 1850 372 372 and we'll send you a new one in the post.
3. Top Up by text
To Top Up by text you must first register your payment details with us. Once you have registered, you can top up by texting EI top up XX (where XX is the amount) to 53314. For example, to top up by €10 simply text "EI top up 10" to 53314.
Smarter Pay As You Go Meters
If you have a Smarter Pay As You Go Meter, the top up will be automatically applied to your meter once you have texted.
Standard Pay As You Go Meters
If you have a Standard Pay As You Go Meter, you will receive a top up code after you text which you will need to input manually into your meter.
Additional Smarter Pay As You Go Options
Scheduled Top up
Scheduled top up is a feature for customers registered with Payzone online. By using scheduled top up you can plan your top up for every week or every month. For example you can schedule a top up of €50 to happen on the first Friday of every month.
Automatic Top Up
Registered customers also have the option of setting their Smarter Pay As You Go meter to automatic top up. You can set your meter to top up by however much you decide when it hits the low balance threshold of €10. For example every time the meter hits €10 you will be automatically topped up by €20. This prevents your meter balance running low, self disconnecting and removes the hassle of topping up.
