What is a standard unit rate?

A standard unit rate for electricity is the price a consumer pays for one unit of electricity, not including any standing charges, daily charges or PSO levy. Each energy supplier sets its own standard unit rate. Electric Ireland’s standard unit rate is the lowest for electricity (bill pay) when compared to the other energy suppliers.
