Discover Enduring Discounts with Electric Ireland

Happy couple checking their diary

We’re making bills smaller for our residential customers with discounts that don't disappear and stable prices.

Electric Ireland is committed to offering competitive tariffs and ongoing value to our customers. We do this in two ways: we offer the highest enduring discount to existing residential gas and electricity customers and we ensure price stability for all customers.

Price Stability

We recently announced that there will be no change to residential electricity unit rates and standing charges from 1 November 2025.

In addition, Electric Ireland will reduce residential gas unit rates and standing charges by 4%, equating to a €57.56 saving per annum on the average gas bill.

This is Electric Ireland’s fourth consecutive residential gas price reduction since November 2023, delivering a cumulative decrease of 23.6% and total savings of approximately €390 (excluding VAT and carbon tax) on the average gas bill.

Residential electricity unit rates and standing charges will remain unchanged. Since November 2023, we have reduced electricity rates three times, resulting in cumulative savings of up to €376 (excluding VAT and PSO levy) for our electricity customers.

Discounts that don’t disappear

To further benefit existing customers, Electric Ireland offers the highest discount rate in the market of up to 8.5% for its gas and electricity residential customers, a discount that doesn’t disappear after a year.

This means our customers get to enjoy discounts after their contract period ends, helping you avoid bill shock. By choosing Direct Debit and online billing, you can continue to enjoy these savings beyond the first year.

Supporting Customers

At Electric Ireland, we are aware that electricity and gas bills can be financially challenging for many of our customers. To support, we offer a range of solutions to help customers including flexible payment plans, Pay As You Go (PAYG) meters, Smart Meter Plans, energy use insights and energy saving tips and advice.
