The Smart Home of the future is closer than you think...

Since the days of Tomorrow's World we've imagined that in the future we would all live in smart homes with automated assistants and appliances that know when to turn on and off. However, as we've discussed in our previous smart home guides, most of those technologies that used to seem like science fiction are available to buy right now.

We've put together a picture of what your home could look like with the addition of a few smart devices in the infographic below. Of course, according to Tomorrow's World, these were due to arrive in about 2001 so you could say it's all a little late.
