Electric Ireland, proud sponsor of the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championships, have released the tenth and final episode of its podcast ‘GAA Minor Moments’ which features former Cork hurler, Seánie McGrath, as he reflects on the highlights of his playing days.

Seánie McGrath started his inter-county career with Cork when he was selected for the Minor hurling team in 1992, dedicating two years to the team before his successful stint at senior level. In this open conversation, Seánie discusses how his self-confidence during his days playing for Cork would have made James Bond seem shy. He also recalls playing against Anthony Daly of Clare and how even when playing across from each other, they still managed to enjoy those occasions together.

As Seánie reminisces on his favourite Minor moment, he offers some advice to current and future minors, reminding them that hurling should never be a chore but rather a love of taking part.

The ten episodes of Electric Ireland’s ‘GAA Minor Moments’ podcast have aired throughout the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championships, featuring a new guest each week from a star-studded line up as they share memories from their early sporting careers, reflecting on the defining moments from playing Minor and how it shaped them, both on and off the pitch. Guests have included Republic of Ireland footballer Niall Quinn, Tyrone GAA footballer Seán Cavanagh, The Corona’s lead singer Danny O’Reilly and Clare hurling legend Jamesie O’Connor.

Each episode from Electric Ireland’s ‘GAA Minor Moments’ podcast can be listened to on the Electric Ireland website, Spotify or Apple Music profile page.
