Here are some of the simple ways to check if the electricity is "on" or "off" in your home
If the gas supply at your home has been disconnected, or you're moving into a new home with no gas supply, please contact us on 1800 372 372
Re-connections If you need to be reconnected, you can contact us on 1800 372 372 to arrange an appointment to suit you. Please note that you will have to pay a re-connection charge of €72.54 to get the gas supply restored at your home.
Newly built homes If you are moving into a newly built house or apartment, contact Gas Networks Ireland on 1850 200 694 to arrange for new connection
The gas supply to your meter is controlled by an isolation valve. The valve is fitted immediately up stream of the gas meter. Current regulations require that the operation of the isolation valve from fully "on" to fully "off" must be by a quarter turn of an easily operated handle, clearly marked to show the "off" position . The valve is in the "off" position when it is at a right angle to the pipe. If the natural gas shut off valve is hard to reach or will not operate, call Gas Networks Ireland on 1850 200 694.
The MPRN/GPRN is located on the top right hand corner of a past bill. If you are either moving into a new home or renting a new home, a previous bill is usually held by a previous tenant or the landlord. If you are moving into a house or apartment that has just been built please contact ESB Networks on 1850 372 757 to verify your MPRN, or Gas Networks Ireland on 1850 200 694 to verify your GPRN.
Please complete our move in form within 21 days of your move. This is to ensure that your first bill is accurate.
