You have a Pay As You Go (PAYG) meter in your property that you are no longer using. Our Safety Team has advised that unused PAYG meters should be removed to remain safe and compliant.

There is an older Pay‑As‑You‑Go electricity meter in the property that is no longer in use. While it is not presenting an immediate hazard, it is generally considered good practice to avoid leaving unused electrical equipment in a home. Removing redundant devices helps ensure your electrical installation remains up‑to‑date and reduces the possibility of issues arising in the future.

Insurance policies can differ between providers, so we can’t advise on how a specific insurer might view unused electrical equipment in your property. In general, we simply make our customers aware that keeping redundant electrical devices in place isn’t considered best practice from a safety and housekeeping perspective. If you have any concerns about your insurance cover, it’s best to check directly with your insurer, as they can confirm what applies under your policy.
