The Department of Social Protection has a number of qualifying conditions for eligibility for the Free Electricity Allowance.

If you are eligible to apply you can do so by completing the application form HB1. You must have an Electric Ireland account in your own name if you want to apply.
If the account is not in your name, you can contact us on 1800 372 372 to have your name changed on the bill.
