Temporary Business Energy Support Scheme

Find out more information on the energy support scheme announced by the government

The Government have announced the Temporary Business Energy Support Scheme (TBESS) which is a €1.25 billion programme of financial aid for businesses struggling with increasing energy costs. To learn more visit gov.ie.

It is anticipated that the portal for registration and making a claim will be open from late November 2022. In the meantime, to find out if your business is eligible, you can read the guidelines on eligibility here.

Please note that the scheme is administered by the Revenue Commissioners and not through Electric Ireland. While we will endeavour to help our customers as much as possible by providing you with information, we cannot apply on your behalf, or process applications.

Available to all Small-Medium Enterprise (SME) customers nine months after onboarding, this tool provides personalised energy insights into your business, helping you manage usage and reduce costs where possible.

Features of this tool include:

▪ Peer to Peer comparison, comparing your usages to others in your sector
▪ Personalised energy-saving tips for your business

Understanding your energy bill is key to managing your consumption. While our business customers are on varying tariffs, with bill formats differing from tariff to tariff, each bill contains the same key information.

Meter Reads for your Business

Ensure accurate, not estimated billing

Ensuring you submit your Meter Read to your electricity provider is becoming increasingly important to ensure bill accuracy, and to avoid an estimated bill charge.

The easiest way to submit a Meter Read is to login to Business Online. Our video explains how you can do this.

If you are unable to log in or register, for Business Online, you can submit a Meter Read through our automated meter read phone service by calling us on 1800 337 777.

Please ensure you have the following information to hand before phoning us:

▪ Account Number
▪ MPRN
▪ Meter Type; Meter Number; Meter Reading(s)

Emergency Blackout Information

We understand that for a large volume of customers their bill is becoming increasingly concerning. This is hard to navigate for many and finding accurate information on Generation Capacity is difficult.
