1. Why has my gas price increased?

Due to the increasing cost of wholesale Gas Prices, Electric Ireland carried out two gas price increases in 2022 (August and October). Due to a technical issue these price increases were not applied to your PAYG Gas meter. We are now rectifying the issue and you will be charged the correct tariff from January 24th 2023.

2. Will I have to pay back my undercharges since August?

No, you will not be liable for the undercharge.

3. Do I have to do anything?

No, you do not need to do anything. Your price change will happen automatically.

4. What is my new Gas Price?

Your new Gas Price is 14.671 cent per kwh (including VAT) and new standing charge is 53cent per day (including VAT)

a) If you currently have a Pay As You Go gas meter with another gas supplier, then you can switch to Electric Ireland today by calling us on 1800 372 372.

b) If you currently do not have a Pay As You Go gas meter and would prefer to budget for your future gas bills, Pay As You Go Choice can help you.

Where Can I Top Up?
