Wall insulation The facts
Up to 30%* of your homes heat can be lost through poorly insulated walls. Your walls have the greatest exposure to the outside elements.
Improving or replacing your wall insulation is a great way to make long-term savings and a great way to improve the comfort of your home. You could reduce your heating bill by up to 30%*.
There are three main methods of wall insulation, depending on the type of wall and the type of house: Cavity Fill, Internal and External.
Don't worry if you aren't sure what type of walls you have, a member of the Home Services Team will inspect them and advise you on what method is most suitable for your home.
What is Cavity Wall insulation?
A cavity wall usually consists of two leafs of bricks or blocks with a space between them. If your home was built before the mid-1980s with cavity walls it may not contain insulation. More recent cavity walls may have some, but it may not be sufficient, and could be improved upon.
How does it work?
If you have cavity walls we can inject insulation to fill the cavity. Holes are drilled on the outside of the wall to inject the insulation. These are then filled and matched to the walls existing finish after the work is completed.

Typical cost of full cavity wall insulation for a 3 or 4 bed Semi-detached house is €787**, this is before a potential SEAI grant of €250*.
