A Guide to paying your Electric Ireland electricity or gas bill

Suiting your business needs, we now have a range of flexible payment options. Please have a look at these options below:

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the simplest way to pay your bill.
All you need is:

  • A Republic of Ireland bank account that allows a Direct Debit to be set up
  • Your Electric Ireland account number (this can be found on your bill)
  • Your IBAN code (can be found on your bank statement)

If your account number starts with a ‘9’ please complete this mandate
and return to us at:

If your account number starts with a ‘2’ please complete this mandate
and return to us at:

Electric Ireland,
Swift Square,

Equal Monthly Payments

Equaliser is our fixed monthly direct debit payment option, which allows you to spread the cost of your annual gas and electricity bill into twelve equal monthly direct debit payment amounts. For more information, visit our help section or Sign up now.

Debit/Credit Card

To pay by this method, all you need is:

  • A valid Debit/Credit Card
  • Your Electric Ireland Electricity and/or Gas account number.

Please note that you can now use your Debit/Credit Card to pay your bill online.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

You will need to provide the following details to your bank to set up an EFT for your electricity/gas bill:

  • Your Electricity and/or Gas Account Number
  • Our IBAN: IE67DABA95182310006343

Please allow up to five working days for payments to appear on your Electric Ireland account.

When you’re paying by post, please send your cheque (made payable to Electric Ireland) and your completed Bank Giro Credit Transfer slip (attached to the bottom of your bill) to:
